Solution:

1. In the Word document, type test. Select the typed text, and then in the Style box (on the Formatting toolbar), click Normal.
2. With the text still selected, click Styles and Formatting on the Format menu.
3. Move the mouse pointer over Line Number in the Pick formatting to apply list, click the arrow to the right of Line Number, and then click Update to Match Selection.
4. Delete the extra text ("test") that you typed.

To recover a program or document that is not responding, follow these steps:
1. Click Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office Application Recovery.
2. In the Application list, click the program or document that is not responding.
3. Do one of the following: • To attempt to recover the files you were working on, click Recover Application.
• If you just want to quit the program, and lose recent changes to the files, click End Application.
