Common problem in Word: Page Numbers

1. In the main menu, select View -> Header and Footer
2. Click Insert Auto Text and select - PAGE -
3. Move the page number to the desired position in the header or footer. It will be there on every page.

*Changing Page Number Format by Adding Sections*

1. Put cursor at top of page
2. Select Insert -> Break
3. Choose a Section Break and click OK
4. Select View -> Header and Footer
5. Scroll down to Footer if Footer is desired
6. Click on the new section's header or footer and deselect Same as Previous and make the desired changes to the page number format
7. Move cursor to next page
8. Select Insert -> Break
9. Choose a Section Break and click OK
10. Select View -> Header and Footer
11. Click on the new section's Header and deselect Same as Previous and make the desired changes to the page number format
12. Use the Left Align, Right Align, or Center buttons on the tool bar to position your page numbers where desired. If Right align is not shown, click on the arrow on the right most part of the toolbar.
